About the Project

Our research examines how faculty expertise - academic and experiential - informs post-secondary institution’s (PSIs) responses to sexualized violence. Employing an intersectional approach, this qualitative project takes account of who is and isn't at the table when policies are written and implemented. Our work is framed by the question of knowledge mobilization, and asks if universities mobilize the knowledge produced on their campuses effectively.

In turn, this research will mobilize the knowledge of experts by offering them an opportunity to critically evaluate their institution’s sexualized violence response, and to offer concrete suggestions on how the existing policies and practices can better meet the needs of campus communities. We are conducting interviews in select cities in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.
